Little Heroes, the Charity for the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, officially launches its new brand, which is a tribute to the courage and resilience of local children.
Helping Hand, the long-standing charity supporting the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, is excited to announce a new chapter in its ongoing support for the diagnosis, care, and treatment of childhood illness. As part of an ambitious rebranding initiative, the charity will now be known as Little Heroes.
The name change reflects the charity’s renewed commitment to focusing on the courageous children who are at the heart of the hospital’s care. “Little Heroes” is more than just a name; it embodies the strength, resilience, and bravery of the young patients who face challenges every day, as well as the dedicated healthcare professionals who support them.
“We are thrilled to share Little Heroes with the local community – a name that we hope resonates with the spirit of the children we serve,” said Mary McCall, Chief Executive Officer, Little Heroes. “Today’s launch of our rebrand marks a new era for us, one that reinforces our commitment to providing life-changing care, support, and hope to sick children and those who love and care for them.”
The decision to rebrand comes as part of the charity’s long-term vision to expand its impact and increase awareness of the vital work being done at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. Little Heroes will continue its mission to raise funds for the hospital’s paediatric services, fund innovative medical treatments and equipment, provide support for families, paediatricians, the hospital’s team of allied health professionals and help research into childhood illness.
“Children at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children are true heroes,” said Ivan Martin, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Little Heroes. “The charity was first formed 27 years ago and has given unwavering support to those who are impacted by childhood illness. Over the years we have been grateful for the support of families and the care team for their ongoing dedication to improving the lives of the children who need them most. We look forward now to sharing their stories with the local community so that we can give ill children the best chance, and the best childhoods, possible. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of these little heroes.”
As part of the rebranding, Little Heroes will launch a new website, and a refreshed communications strategy to connect with the wider community. The charity’s core values of compassion, care, and support remain at the forefront of its purpose, and the new branding aims to further engage the public in fundraising and awareness efforts.
A special event to launch the charity’s new brand will be held at St Mary’s University College on Thursday 21st November, where the medical team, parents, families and supporters will gather to celebrate the charity’s development, hear about its plans for the future and explore how supporters can make a real difference for our little heroes.
