Our Aims
Little Heroes works to:
- Highlight the courage and resilience of the children who are cared for at The Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
- Promote the incredible stories of its patients and the challenges they and those that love and care for them face.
- Champion the incredible talent and commitment of the paediatric health care professionals at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children who deliver such exceptional clinical care to our community throughout Northern Ireland.
- Raise much needed funds to support the diagnosis and treatment of childhood illness.
This Year…
This year so far Little Heroes has funded projects including:
- Sensory Room Equipment
- Virtual Reality Immersive Therapy Headsets
- Multiple Ultrasound Scanners
- Toys, games and play therapy equipment essential for assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation
- Simulation education equipment for clinical training
- Makaton training
- Bereavement Support
- Funding to assist families with the additional running costs incurred relating to life saving equipment.
- Hydrotherapy pool equipment
- Defibrillators for training
- TV’S for side rooms and bedside cubicles
