Alex’s Story

On the 8th of December 2023, Alex’s life took an unimaginable turn. While lying peacefully in her cot, Alex suddenly suffered a brain haemorrhage.

Alex is a child filled with adventure, curiosity, and playfulness. She soon set her sights on her next big challenge – learning to walk. With her K-Walker and the love and support of her family and friends, Alex embarked on a special journey in August called ‘Alex Goes Walking’.

Together, they set a goal to walk five miles—an extraordinary achievement for Alex, considering everything she had endured in her short life. They dedicated this journey to raising funds for Little Heroes, a charity that had become a lifeline for them.

The community has rallied behind Alex in ways that have touched the family deeply. Ryan’s employer, Used Cars NI, organized a fundraising walk along the North Coast, raising an incredible £4,205.25 for Little Heroes.

The Chambers family’s ‘Alex Goes Walking’ event surpassed all expectations, raising an astonishing £13,148 – far beyond their original £8,000 target.
